Do you remember the last time that you had to grab a piece of paper and when writing down something certain, then needing to copy was written? You may have even used something called carbon paper to make those copies. Carbon paper, however, is extremely messy and will create dirty smudges on everything that you copy. Luckily for you, there is a better way of reproducing papers today that does not need carbon paper anymore and it is called NCR or no carbon required copy form.
Carbonless copy paper, otherwise known simply as no carbon required (NCR) or tibble is a special kind of document designed to yield copies when inscribed upon without the using microcapsules containing carcinogen colour-former compounds an electron developer. It has difference in terms of the use that instead using carbon it uses special chemical which transfer ink from one page to another. Which means you can create nice and clean trace copies, without a worry of any mess as carbon paper does!
The first carbonless copy paper was around in the 1950s, meaning it is early old. The device has been especially useful as it makes the process of copying easy for many offices, schools or any businesses. In the days before carbonless copy paper, sellers would have to make copies of important documents such as bills or receipts by placing some type of carbon sheet between 2 pieces of regular sheets and run them through a typing machine.
However, carbon paper was not without its drawbacks. It also would smudge and smear easily which made for unattractive copies. To make a duplicate, I put a sheet of carbon paper (a dry ink on thin tissue that transferred the original copy onto another piece of good quality writing or typing paper) between an extra blank page and my first draft, double spac... You could even end up marking or making holes in the paper beneath if you wrote with too much pressure! This was not working unless you wanted to produce really cool looking copies that were more or less a professional look.
Carbonless copy paper solves this problem by replacing the carbon altogether. Consists of two sheets (top and bottom sheet encourage creativity…) The sheet on top is coated which reacts as you write it. Upon coming into contact with the bottom sheet, this ink reacts and lets to show up in a fashionable manner. It is a special coating that catches the ink ejected from the top sheet.
One other great attribute of carbonless copy paper is that it is far more environmentally friendly than traditional carbonic acid. The carbon paper of old also contained chemicals that were not good for the earth, and could cause harm to our environment. Carbonless copy paper on the other hand uses safe chemicals that have no damage to anything.
With carbonless copy paper you also do not need to use extra copies or the old fashion carbon sheet, which in turn saves a lot of paper and trees. Using carbonless copy will reduce waste and save our earth. So when you choose carbonless copy paper, it is safe to say that you are actually making a decision expansion very good for the environment.
